We will concentrate on generating a technology file for parasitic capacitance extraction with\u00a0<em><strong>HIPEX-C.<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0The same principals can be applied to other rule-base LPE tools.<\/p>\n<p class=\"feature\"><strong>The Structure of a\u00a0<em>LISA<\/em>\u00a0Script to Generate LPE Rule Files<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>EXACT<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0generates an LPE rule file for parasitic C extraction which contains two parts: one is for overlapping capacitances between a pair of layers, and the other is for lateral capacitances for a single layer. You can write a\u00a0<strong><em>LISA<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0script for each of those parts separately for easier maintenance.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>EXACT<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0allows you to use the LOAD command to execute multiple\u00a0<strong><em>LISA<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0scripts to generate LPE rule files separately. You can merge those generated rule files using a shell command such as \u201ccat\u201d. You can use those shell commands with the\u00a0<strong><em>LISA<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0function \u2019sh(\u201c&lt;shell command&gt;\u201d);\u2019 in your script. See Example 1.<\/p>\n<p>You can write some description independent of\u00a0<em><strong>EXACT<\/strong><\/em>\u2019s simulation, such as comments or layer derivation commands, using the WRITE command in\u00a0<strong><em>LISA<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0directly.
